LIBRARY

Libraries form the soul of any learning environment. The Kanak College  library too plays an essential role in the College, adding to the vibrancy of the campus. The library’s emphasis is on both print & digital media. In a short span of five years, we have developed an excellent collection of books in the liberal arts, thanks to the vision of the founders and a generous flow of personal collections. The library is in the process of providing remote (anywhere/anytime) access to eBooks, e-journals, open archives, and digital resources. Currently, Library provides online access to reputed journals and databases like The Economist, The New York Times, Economic & Political Weekly, Science Direct, Census data, and the list is only growing. The Library assists the teaching community in retrieving course materials through its digital repository services.  In addition to its own resources, we also provide access to materials from reputed libraries in the country through the Inter library cooperative initiatives. We have arrangements with national & international organisations to source specialized research information as and when the demand arises. Keeping the diversity of students in mind, the library has added some contemporary collections in select vernacular languages for leisure reading. In keeping with Kanak objectives, the library has a mobile van to serve school children in the neighborhood. We at the library believe in conservation of nature and hence curtail the use of paper in our daily office activities. We also respect and comply with copyright issues.
